Rear cabin
We decided not to use the panels we had made. It was far to complicated to use them.
If we were to use them we would have to glue them in place with epoxy, the plan was
to make them removable.
W would also have to split them in two because of the removable panel just below
the armrest.
9/1 The first thing we have made are armrests, they are made of hard foam covered with
glass/epoxy. They are removable.
When we are done with the two sides, we will make a large "pillow" to fit in the
cavity above the armrest.

The aluminium sheet you can see just below the armrest, are panels we have made to
fit on top of the panels supplied from Van's. We think it looks better when you
cannot see any screws. It also make task of upholstry a lot easier.
12/1 One of the largest problems is the edge of the windows. The edge where we could clue fabric
on is very thin. The risk is that the glue could give in and the fabric would come loose
and look horrible.
The solution we have chosen, is to make a larger edge around the window.
When our "frame" is done, there will be a 4x4mm gap between our edge and the window.
The fabric will then be clued around the edge. To finish it off, we will make a round
fabric "seal" to stuff into the gap. Our upholstry guy told me that was the way to go.
We have used tape to hold our 4mm distancepiece in place all around the window.

13/1 Our windowsill (I think it's called that)has been made. We used glass/polyester
to lay it up directly on top of the distancepiece.
We will glue it in place once it's looking nice.
More about that later.

27/1 The "windowsill" has been glued on. We have glued some foam on top of it.
The foam needs to be sanded and covered with epoxy.

4/2 The left side is done and only needs upholstry.

22/2 We have made an armrest/ storagecompartment for the backseat passengers.
It will be upholstred together with the rearseats.
As you can see on the picture, we have also modified the rearseats, and put a
headrest on them. It is made off steeltubing that is bolted to the seatframe. If
you look closely, you can see a gap in the middle of the headrest that allows the
seatbelts to pass through.

27/2 We have closed the edge in the ceiling, between the forward and rearseats,
with foam and eopxy. The hole is for cabinlight.
