Exhaust

The exhaust is the achilles heel of our engine. Special care has to be taken, when designing it.
The wankel engine, contrary to a piston, dosn't have any exhaustvalves to absorb the shockwaves coming from the running engine. The exhaustgas is also around 100degrees C (180F) hotter than from a piston engine.
Theese two issues combined, can tear most exhaustsystems apart.

To make life easier on ourselves, we ordered a finished system from mistral. Being the first customer for the G300, the prototype exhaust was designed for the RV10, so that didn't really give us any second thoughts.

The exhaust is aircooled.

Three 2" pipes exit's from the engine, they are combined in a singele 3" pipe. The entire system is made from Inconel 625 (costly). 10/12-20089
