Paint
7/5 Finally, we got started on the paintingprocess. As soon as you start pouring the paint on, it starts to look finished.

We started by painting the entire plane white, you airbrush artist Ivar Aasland arrived shortly after, and masked the airplane to his spec's. We then painted the red markings on it.
Right now, we are waiting for him to find the time in his busy schedule to give the plane the finishing touch. paint

26/9-2008 Ivar, our painter, was here the other day to do some more work on the plane. He was here a while ago, making some light and shadows on the paint.
I must say, that I was very impressed to see him work. It was interesting to see, the letters and the graphics come to life. It looks so easy when a professional does what would be impossible for the rest of us to achieve.
We agreed, that we should incorporate some grey to generate some contrast.

Ivar doing our registration marks.
He did it in 30-40 min.

We think that the finished result looks very good.

We wanted something special on the cowl, to pay tribute, to the special engine we are installing.
After some exchange of ideas, Ivar started to draw. We ended up with three wankel rotors

Ivar suggested, that we made it look like, the three rotors was hovering between the grey and the white. He spent about an hour, getting the design right and masking everything up.
It is vital, that you do something, that fits the design of the rest of the paintjob, and of course the plane.

Finally he put shadows on.

Now we just need to add clearcoat, to protect the paint and make the effects stand out even more.

A few flags is a must, the EU flag in the background of course :) rudder

We wanted something special around the fuelcaps. I came up with the idea, of painting a tag nailed on to the wing. Ivar our painter did a teriffic job.

He finalized the details on the wings at the same time.

"No Step" so that nobody steps on the flaps.
